Notice on Issuing the Regulations on the Management of Off-Campus Teaching Internships for International Students at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law

Regulations on the Management of Off-Campus Teaching Internships for International Students at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law

Article 1 : These regulations are formulated in accordance with relevant laws and regulations such as the 'Regulations on the Administration of the Entry and Exit of Foreigners in the People's Republic of China' , and based on the actual situation of our university, to standardize off-campus teaching internship activities for international students, enhance their social practice abilities, and promote the high-quality development of education for international students in China.

Article 2 :  Off-campus teaching internships for international students refer to internship activities organized and implemented by the university's educational and teaching plans, without receiving any labor compensation (excluding subsidies such as transportation and meal allowances).

Article 3 :International students conducting off-campus teaching internships must obtain approval from the university and apply to the public security organization's immigration management agency to annotate the internship location, duration, and other information on their study residence permit. Internships cannot be conducted without such annotation.

Article 4 :  International students applying for off-campus teaching internships must meet the following conditions:

(1) The applicant must be a formally registered international student at our university;

(2) The applicant must have excellent grades during their time at the university, with an attendance rate of over 80%, abide by laws and disciplines, and have no record of violations;

(3) The applicant must have obtained an internship acceptance letter from the relevant unit, and the internship content must be related to their major;

(4) The applicant must have reached the internship stage (undergraduate students at the third year or above, graduate students at the second year or above).

Article 5 :  The application process for international students to participate in off-campus teaching internships is as follows:

(1) Personal application. The student submits the 'Application Form for International Student Internship' (including the Chinese name and address of the internship unit) to their professional college;

(2) Approval by the professional college. The professional college reviews the application based on the international student's training program and conditions for off-campus teaching internships, and approves eligible applications;

(3) Approval by the International Education College. Upon approval by the International Education College, an 'Off-Campus Internship Certificate for International Students' will be issued to the applicant;

(4) Visa annotation for internship. The applicant should follow the regulations of the local immigration management department, carry the 'Off-Campus Internship Certificate for International Students' and other relevant materials to apply for visa annotation for the internship;

(5) Record keeping. After obtaining the visa annotation for the internship, the applicant should submit a copy of the visa to the International Education College within three working days.

Article 6 :  The maximum duration of off-campus teaching internships for international students is six months and must not exceed their study period at the university.

Article 7 :  International students are not allowed to engage in off-campus teaching internships at two or more units simultaneously. In principle, internships should only be conducted in the city where they study.

Article 8 :  During the off-campus teaching internship, if there is a change in the internship unit, the internship record keeping and visa annotation must be re-applied before resuming the internship. If there are changes to the passport or residence permit, the internship does not need to be interrupted, but the visa annotation should be re-applied.

Article 9 :  If an international student interrupts their internship due to early completion of their studies or other reasons, they must explain the situation to the International Student Office and cancel the internship annotation at the public security organization's immigration management department.

Article 10 :  The International Education College will cancel the off-campus teaching internship qualification of international students in any of the following situations and report the case to the public security organization's immigration management department in a timely manner:

(1) Those who have dropped out, taken a leave of absence, or been expelled;

(2) Those who have violated Chinese laws and regulations or the university's relevant management systems;

(3) Those with low moral character, who have violated social norms and customs, causing adverse effects;

(4) Those whose off-campus teaching internships have affected their studies or who the International Education College deems unsuitable for continuing to participate in off-campus teaching internships for other reasons.

Article 11 :  If an international student's off-campus teaching internship exceeds the scope of the position or the specified time limit, it will be investigated and handled by the public security organization's immigration management department in accordance with the law. The legal consequences arising from this shall be borne by the international student themselves. At the same time, the university will also impose disciplinary action on the individual based on the severity of the situation.

Article 12 :  These regulations shall be implemented from the date of issuance. If there are any inconsistencies between these regulations and previous regulations on off-campus teaching internships for international students, these regulations shall prevail. In case of changes to national laws and regulations or regulations from higher authorities, the changed regulations shall apply.

Article 13 :  The International Education College of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law is responsible for interpreting these regulations. For matters not covered here, reference should be made to relevant national and university policies. The English version is provided for understanding purposes only. The Chinese version shall be the final authority for interpretation and implementation.
